Charles McDougall to Direct 'Burt Wonderstone' Starring Steve Carell

Once again, as his episodes are running out on NBC's hit comedy series "The Office" another project with Steve Carell has some new legs. THR reports Burt Wonderstone, a magician comedy with Carell in the titular role, has landed TV director Charles McDougall to sit in the director's chair for the feature film. The project has been in development since 2006 from New Line Cinema and once had Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) attached to direct. The story is set in the world of rival Las Vegas magicians where Carell plays a magic man dehtroned by a hip younger illusionist and then must find a way to rediscover his love for magic.

This could almost be a follow-up to Carell's run on "The Office" as Michael Scott since the office boss has always had a strange obsession with magic tricks. Apparently the project is looking to shoot this fall using a script ...
