James McTeigue To Helm Prohibition Era Crime Drama 'Ness/Capone'

Relativity Media just finished working with V for Vendetta director James McTeigue on the period mystery thriller The Raven with John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe (a project that didn't really impress me much at Comic-Con earlier this year). Now the production company will reunite with the filmmaker as Deadline reports McTeigue has been set to direct Ness/Capone, a new period crime drama written by Grant Pierce Myers which made the 2010 Black List. The film is said to put a new spin on the well-known rivalry between American Prohibition agent Elliot Ness and infamous mobster Al Capone in the 1920's.

Though Ness and his exploits as the leader of agents who came to be known as The Untouchables were chronicled the in the 1987 film of the same name starring Kevin Costner, this film is said to follow the battle between Ness and Capone with more shades of gray. Ness ...
