Robert Downey Jr. & Director David Dobkin Teaming for 'The Judge'

In just under a month we'll be seeing Robert Downey Jr. delivering some vigilante justice as Iron Man in The Avengers, but a new project will have him dealing directly with the law instead. Deadline has word Warner Bros. is developing The Judge with the aforementioned actor producing through his Team Downey banner and David Dobkin directing. Bill Dubuque (an up and coming writer with projects like The Accountant and The Headhunter's Calling in development) is scripting the story about a big-city lawyer who returns home after the death of his mother to learn his estranged father, a judge, is suspected of murder.

The film, with the first draft coming from Nick Schenk (Gran Torino), has a mix of comedy and drama as the lawyer sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before. However, with Dobkin's Arthur & Lancelot ...
