Dwayne Johnson Looks to Join Jon M. Chu's 'G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes'

Finally, some casting news that could actually make a few people excited for once. Deadline is reporting that Dwayne Johnson, who kicked some serious ass in Fast Five earlier this summer, is currently "in talks" to join Paramount's upcoming G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes sequel. Since J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2 won't make its summer 2012 release, word is that Paramount is readying G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes to fill the spot and that includes rounding up a cast. Finke also says that Channing Tatum, who plays Captain Duke, is "a good bet to return", and that Johnson's character is named Roadblock, who does come from the original series.
