Nicole Kidman in Talks to Lead Supernatural 'Spectre' for James Wan

The market is open! I'm talking about the Cannes Market. For the movie industry, Cannes is not only a time to catch some great premieres, but it's also when announcements are made, deals are arranged, and films are sold worldwide. That means for the next two weeks we'll see an endless stream of announcements, some with barely any public information. Take, for example, this new project from James Wan, director of the original Saw as well as this year's most profitable film, Insidious. Variety says he has a new project called Spectre in the works, but doesn't have any info about the story or otherwise, besides a hint about casting.

As completely expected, Spectre is said to be a "supernatural thriller" budgeted under $10 million, which seems to be where Wan is happiest working nowadays (Insidious only cost $1.5 million to make). IM Global is developing the project through its genre ...
