Box Office Results

Hop, $38.1 millionSource Code, $15.1 millionInsidious, $13.5 millionDiary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, $10.2 millionLimitless, $9.4 millionLincoln Lawyer, $7.1 millionSucker Punch, $6.1 millionRango, $4.6 millionPaul, $4.3 millionBattle: Los Angeles, $3.5 millionRYAN: The Easter Bunny takes the top of the box this weekend. Hop opens at #1 and it's not shocking since its promotion relied heavily on the fact that it's from the same team that did Despicable Me.CAROLINE: That's true. You could barely turn on the TV without hearing it. And parents do look for things to take the kids to. I just hope this one wasn't too mind-numbing.RYAN: I certainly enjoyed it. CAROLINE: I thought Jake Gyllenhaal might have had a bit bigger box office appeal.RYAN: Well, such is the case with movie stars these days. A name no longer opens a movie. Look at Nicole Kidman or the teaming up of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. CAROLINE: That's true. Times are different in Hollywood and there's no longer such a thing as a guaranteed hit... unless, of course, you're Harry Potter.RYAN: Exactly. That's why they're milking the last book into two movies - same as the last Twilight. And there always seems to be another Pirates movie in the works. CAROLINE: Yeah. I heard after the new one this year they may continue that franchise as well. Only the next ones might be stand alone films.RYAN: I like a good, big movie. CAROLINE: I like a good movie. Period.Cheeky & Fresh Movie Reviews
