Tom Cruise Attached to 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' Writer's Dramatic Pitch

Back in December of 2009, Warner Bros. paid big bucks for an untitled family-driven drama from writer Dan Fogelman (Cars, Fred Claus) with Steve Carell attached to star. We now know that project as Crazy, Stupid, Love (and it looks pretty good), and the studio loves it so much that they're apparently very keen to work with Fogelman again. Deadline reports the studio just picked up an untitled pitch for a new drama with Tom Cruise attached to star. The story follows a politician who gets caught in an affair and with his reputation in shambles, returns home to lick his wounds, repair relationships and confront his past.

It doesn't sound like the most original story, but considering how much Warner Bros. must love Fogelman's script for Crazy, Stupid, Love, they obviously think he has the skills on the page to deliver another stellar script. In fact, their faith in ...
