'Takers' Director John Luessenhop in Talks to Helm 'Leatherface 3D'

Towards the end of last year we heard that Twisted Pictures had set writers Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan (the team behind Conspiracy) to script another installment in the long-running Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Leatherface 3D has been said to be a contemporary take on the chainsaw killer as a sequel to the remake from 2003 with the story being set 35 years after the events of Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic. Since then we haven't heard much about the project, but now Bloody Disgusting has gotten word that John Luessenhop, the man who brought us Takers, is in talks to direct the new horror. Gross!

The man doesn't really have any experience with horror (though I'm sure one of the five people who saw Takers might call it one of the scariest movies they've ever seen), so this doesn't sound all that promising. But of course, this is Twisted Pictures ...
