At the end of March we learned that Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn might be facing off in the gestating crime drama Gangster Squad at Warner Bros. However, when word came that Penn was going to star in The Last Photograph, it was said that he had turned down the offer to play infamous gangster Micky Cohen in the film. However, Deadline says the two actors have indeed entered negotiations to star in the film, and Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) will join them. With Penn taking the criminal role, Brolin and Gosling will play two cops assigned to bring him down when his crimes leave blood on the streets.
