Critics' Choice Movie Awards Nominations

RYAN: The critics have spoken! And I'm proud to say we can include ourselves in that category since we are official members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. I'm so excited to vote!CAROLINE: Me too! And the Critics' Choice Awards is traditionally the awards show that most accurately predicts the Oscars.RYAN: I love this time of year! It's not a huge surprise that Black Swan got the most nominations, with 12 total. But it's followed closely by The King's Speech and True Grit, which each have 11.CAROLINE: A lot of the people and movies we suspected would get nominated did get nominated; but I'm devastated by the complete shutting out of Shutter Island. It's one of my favorite movies of the year!RYAN: It totally sucks. But it came out in February and I think everyone forgot about it, especially since Leonardo DiCaprio was in another even bigger movie this year.CAROLINE: I know, but it's just not fair. The rest of the nominations seem pretty on point though. And I like that there are some different categories than normal, like Best Young Actor/Actress and Best Action Movie.RYAN: The 16th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards will air live from Los Angeles on Friday, January 14th on VH1 at 9:00. Don't miss it!
