Shia LaBeouf Attached to Lead Adaptation of Joe Hill's 'Horns' Novel

Way back in October of 2009 we heard that Mandalay Pictures had picked up Horns, a novel from Joe Hill (son of Stephen King), for a big screen adaptation. Now the project finally has some legs as Variety reports Shia LaBeouf (Transformers) is not only attached to star in the film, but will also be heavily involved in the project's development. "In Treatment" writer Keith Bunin will adapt the story which follows a 26-year-old man who wakes up one morning from a blackout hangover and finds horns sprouting out of his head. As the horns grow bigger by the day, the reason why seems to lie in the unsolved murder of his girlfriend. How twisted!

Described as a lovey story driven by horror and vengeance, the project sounds like something much better than the generic action flicks LaBeouf has found himself in for the past few years. ...
