Aaron Johnson & Jude Law in Talks for Joe Wright's 'Anna Karenina'

Last December we heard that Lee Daniels was going to direct adaptation of the award winning Broadway play Anna in the Tropics, but director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) is set to direct a straight-up adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic Anna Karenina rather than the play inspired by the book. Keira Knightley has already been placed in the title role in the story about a woman stuck in a loveless marriage who struggles with her attraction to a soldier. Now Variety reports Jude Law and Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) are currrently in talks to join the project, though their roles in the story haven't been mentioned.

The novel has been adapted several times but this seems to be the most high profile adaptation in almost 20 years. And considering how well Wright fared with adaptations like Atonement and Pride & Prejudice. In addition, this cast is already pretty ...
