Yesterday we found out Universal had found their titular male lead for their gestating re-telling of the classic fairytale Snow White and the Huntsman. With Viggo Mortensen in place to assist Snow White and Charlize Theron in line to terrorize her, the fairytale beauty has yet to be cast. When news of Mortensen's casting surfaced yesterday, it was said Universal was interested in finding a fresh face in the way Paramount found young Hailee Steinfeld for True Grit. Well apparently Deadline and THR have some new information that pegs Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) and Kirsten Stewart (The Twilight Saga) as the contenders.
Apparently Emily Browning just tested last week for the lead role but many have pegged Kristen Stewart to be the top choice. If Universal is looking for a huge audience then Stewart is obviously the way to go. Of course, Browning looks to make a big splash in Sucker ...
