Martin Sheen Cast as Uncle Ben in Marc Webb's New Spider-Man

Now this superhero reboot is coming along quite nicely, if I might say. Heat Vision reports that 70-year-old Golden Globe winning actor Martin Sheen, last seen in Imagine That and Love Happens, has been cast in Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot at Sony as the lovable Uncle Ben. I really hope I don't need to explain to anyone who Uncle Ben is, but if you need a recap, head over to Wikipedia. Sheen joins a cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as, according to The Wrap, the villain known as The Lizard. Shooting on the new Spider-Man will start in December for a 2012 3D release.

Spoiler: Sheen is probably going to be killed in this movie. Unless they somehow decide to twist and extend the story, so that doesn't happen until the sequel, but come on. I'm just making a joke, ...
