Ben Affleck May Direct Black Listed Screenplay 'American Bullshit'

After turning down the chance to direct Tales from the Gangster Squad for Warner Brothers, director Ben Affleck is still looking for another project to follow-up The Town. We've already heard that he's interested in adapting Replay for Warner Bros, and he's had The Trade in his backpocket for a while now, but a new project has just surfaced. The Wrap reports the actor-turned-director is looking at American Bullshit, a script that was #30 on last year's Black List that tells the true story of Abscam, the FBI's 1980 undercover sting operation of Congress to root out corruption which was the brainchild of the world's greatest con man.

Atlas Entertainment producers Charles Roven (The Dark Knight) and Richard Suckle (The International) are behind the project along with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Once again, Affleck has not yet made a decision about American Bullshit, but it's definitely in the running to be his ...
