Though he hasn't really been at the top of his game for the past five years, director Joel Schumacher shows no signs of stopping despite being just over 70 years old. Variety reports the Phone Booth and Phantom of the Opera filmmaker will next be at the helm of a new suspense thriller called The Hive. Written by Rich D'Ovidio (Exit Wounds, Thir13een Ghosts) the story follows an emergency operator who must confront a killer from her past to save a young girl's life. Sounds like a generic thriller to me, but of course Schumacher hasn't really been making any memorable films lately, so I guess it's not surprising.
