Almost two weeks ago we learned that Ben Affleck was in talks to play Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's take on the classic novel The Great Gatsby. However, it seems the actor's passion for being behind the camera has prevailed as Deadline reports Affleck will instead be directing Argo, a project which we reported on back in February. Apparently a schedule to allow Affleck to do both just couldn't be figured out, so he has opted not to take part in Luhrmann's film. In addition, SlashFilm noticed The Tracking Board says Affleck will also star in the aforementioned film that he'll be directing for producer George Clooney.
