David Ayer to Direct Jake Gyllenhaal in Police Drama 'End of Watch'

After directing gritty cop movies over these past few years like Harsh Times and Street Kings, it's no secret that screenwriter/director David Ayer loves working on crime dramas. Now we have word on yet another venture into that subgenre as Variety reports Ayer will writer and direct End of Watch, a new police drama with Jake Gyllenhaal in early discussions to star. Ayer will also produce. The plot is currently unrevealed, but is said to be a gritty cop drama that follows the friendship between longtime partners. As of now the film isn't entirely ready to go as financing is still being rounded up before they can set the production start date.
