RYAN: It happens earlier and earlier each year, and summer movie blockbuster season technically begins this month with the Disney release of John Carter.
CAROLINE: This movie just looks like an excuse to use some special effects and make you wear 3D glasses. All those beasts in the trailer? Ugh, I couldn't be less interested. RYAN: It looks like it has potential to me. It kind of has that Clash of the Titans vibe, but should be even better than that.
CAROLINE: You?re optimistic. I think I?ll let you take on this one.
RYAN: The cast is phenom: Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Willem Dafoe, among others... including the hottie cast as John Carter. Here?s the trailer:
CAROLINE: Next is a thriller staring the Olsen twins? younger sister, Elizabeth, who received awards season buzz last year for Martha Marcy May Marlene, though not enough for an Oscar nod.
RYAN: That movie was a lil' cray cray.CAROLINE: Indeed but I loved it! This one looks like a pretty straightforward horror flick.
RYAN: All I can hope for is that it?s actually scary. Check out the trailer:
CAROLINE: Then there's an interesting movie with some actors we like called Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
RYAN: Say that ten times fast.CAROLINE: Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor star and I can't tell if it's a comedy or a drama or what.
RYAN: If there's Ewan, that's all I need to know...
CAROLINE: Lastly is Friends with Kids, by writer/director/actress Jennifer Westfeldt who we've appreciated ever since Kissing Jessica Stein.
RYAN: That movie is brillz. Sadly, she's probably best known today as the arm candy for Jon Hamm, who's also in the movie.CAROLINE: This movie looks sooo good and LBH, we love Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, cutie Chris O'Dowd... it's a great cast!
RYAN: Bring it!
