We've known Ryan Reynolds would be leading the adaptation of the Dark Horse graphic novel R.I.P.D. (or Rest In Peace Department) since last April. Then in August there was word that McG was very interested in directing the adaptation and Universal was interested in snagging Zach Galifianakis for the second lead in the film as Reynolds partner. However, September brought the official news that Robert Schwentke (RED) would be at the helm of the project with no mention of anymore casting. Now we have official word from 24 Frames (confirmed by Variety) that the bearded funnyman will indeed star in the film along with Reynolds.
The film will follow a dead cop (Reynolds) that makes a deal to work 100 years for divine law enforcement in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Galifianakis will play Reynolds' partner as the two police officers patrol the underworld. Last we heard ...
