Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Josh Brolin are all in talks to star in Warner Bros. Gangster Squad, according to Variety. The film is based on a series of Los Angeles Times articles about a secret task force sent to capture Meyer Harris "Mickey" Cohen. Cohen was a high profile gangster who was part of the "Jewish Mafia" in the 1940s. Penn is said to be closing in on a deal and the others should follow pretty closely. The studio reportedly offered Penn the part earlier this month, but now they are in the negotiation phase. Will Beall wrote the script adapted from the newspaper articles.
